Production at high temperatures
Zinc glycerolate is used as an additive for the vulcanization of rubber and in the plastics industry. Other possible applications include use as a heterogeneous catalyst in biodiesel production and also in cosmetics due to its good protective properties against ultraviolet light.
Fast and efficient production route
The WAB IMPA°CT REACTOR enables a high reaction temperature and is predestined for the production of zinc glycerolate.
Mechanical force
The synthesis of zinc glycerolate benefits from the turbulent mixing and the mechanochemical activation of the reaction.
Compared to conventional batch tank processes, this reaction benefits from a lower viscosity of the feed stream and the absence of additional solvents.
Faster reaction
Compared to hydrothermal batch tank reactions, the process time is only 20 seconds instead of 4 to 5 hours.
Lower costs
As the process time is only a fraction of the time and the yield is 100 % in both the mechanochemical and batch-tank reactions, this is an extremely efficient method for producing zinc glycerolate.
Scalability
The use of the WAB IMPA°CT REACTOR enables a continuous process that is scalable on a pilot or industrial scale.
