Automotive painting
Wet grinding technology plays a crucial role in meeting the high demands and customer requirements in automotive paint production. It enables the production of paints that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also meet the high technical standards required for automotive painting.
Whether clear coat, base coat, filler or primer - with our agitator bead mills you can efficiently achieve fine particle sizes and particle distributions - for brilliant color, long-lasting gloss and flawless adhesion as well as scratch resistance for the ultimate vehicle aesthetics.
Colors
Our 3D shaker mixer is used to mix colors homogeneously before application in order to achieve an even distribution of particles.
Facade and interior paints
Wet grinding technology plays a crucial role in the production of high-quality decorative paints. By using our agitator bead mills, finer particle sizes of the paint components are achieved, which improves the color quality and intensity and enables a wider range of shades. At the same time, the use of cost-intensive raw materials can be optimized through effective grinding.
The excellent particle size distribution achieved by wet grinding results in better adhesion and application of the paints on different substrates, a more even, smooth surface and improved opacity. This not only improves the aesthetic effect of the paints, but also increases their resistance and cleanability.
Filler/primer
To ensure that the filler and primer can provide a solid base for a high-quality and durable coating - wet grinding, using horizontal agitator bead mills, plays a crucial role in the production process.
Wet grinding distributes fillers evenly in the binder matrix, resulting in a homogeneous coating, filling power and smoothing, improved adhesion, fast drying, recoatability & durability, opacity, color neutrality and thus color accuracy with economic advantages.
Wood varnish
This application is extremely exciting because wood is used as a natural material in every conceivable area of life. The requirements vary more than with almost any other paint application: There is a world of difference between exterior painting and painting children's toys!
An exterior coating must first and foremost protect the wood from the effects of the weather. In addition, aesthetic issues play an important role: should the wood grain be completely covered or is a certain transparency desired?
By choosing the right grinding parameters, for example, you can control the gloss and transparency of the wood varnish in a targeted manner. Depending on the choice of pigmentation, the particle distribution also increases the UV resistance.
When formulating children's toy coatings, the regulations drastically reduce the choice of ingredients. The focus is therefore on producing a coating that meets all legal requirements.
Powder coating
Powder coating is a surface coating process in which a dry powder material is applied to a substrate. Our 3D-shaker mixer is used to mix powders or granules homogeneously in order to achieve an even distribution of particles.
Ship painting
Marine coatings are specially developed coatings used on ships and marine structures to protect them from corrosion, abrasion and impact loads, seawater, UV radiation, fresh and salt water, fuels and various chemicals, algae infestation and temperature fluctuations.
In the marine coatings industry, wet grinding is used to incorporate pigments, fillers and other additives into liquid binders. This enables the production of coatings with an even distribution of components and optimized performance.
In addition to the chemical requirements, the surface properties are also important: for example, the surface structure of the paint has a major influence on the frictional resistance of the ship's surface when navigating through water. Wet grinding to finer grain sizes can reduce frictional resistance - and lower the ship's energy consumption. It is therefore important that the surfaces remain as smooth as possible and free of algae and shellfish. This is achieved by adding so-called antifouling additives.
