With the groundbreaking ceremony on 10 March 10 2026, we officially kicked off the construction of our new Chinese WAB headquarters in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province.

The new location will be much more than a traditional office building. In addition to modern assembly and storage facilities, a state-of-the-art Process Technology Centre will be built here. This will enable us to better support our customers and deepen our partnerships with suppliers in one of the most dynamic markets in the world.

More than a construction project – a commitment

For WAB-GROUP, this investment represents two values that have always guided us: continuity and conviction. Continuity in our commitment to stability and reliability, and the firm conviction that Chinese industry, local talent, and the opportunities ahead of us offer tremendous potential.

A time capsule as a cornerstone

As part of the celebration, we laid a time capsule as a symbolic foundation stone. It contains, among other things, a letter to the future, a daily newspaper, the family crest of our company founder Willy Arnold Bachofen, and several brochures about our products.

Gratitude and anticipation

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Changzhou municipal government and Xinbei District for their valuable support. We would also like to thank our dedicated teams in China and Switzerland, as well as the architects, engineers, and contractors for their outstanding work, professionalism, and commitment to quality and safety.
